Oh what a night - a Medieval Knight! The Cancer League hosted its' 48th annual Holly Ball on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Claremont Country Club. It was exciting to come together again after having hosted last year's event virtually. The soaring rafters and custom woodwork of Claremont Country Club's newly refurbished Lounge made for a perfect backdrop for the evening's medieval theme. Custom pennants and crests hung from the rafters, knights of armor greeted guests decked out in beautiful jewel-toned gowns and a court jester even entertained the crowd. The evening included a delicious rustic-themed meal followed by a live auction and the viewing of the Cancer League’s inspirational video which gave voice to some of the doctors and research projects funded by the Cancer League.

It was a record breaking year for funds raised by the event which will all go to support Bay Area organizations dedicated to the fight against cancer. COVID-19 has had many unintended consequences in the fight against cancer. Cancers have gone undiagnosed, research has been suspended and clinics are working at diminished capacity. The Cancer League and our supporters stood up against these challenges and worked harder than ever to fight cancer and to get research back on track.
